Why have i been bleeding for 2 mos i'm 49 yrs old?

i went to the er. because i was bleeding so bad they did blood work and urine test.i did not have a pelvic exam .i'm not anemic. i have an appt. next weekwith my female gyno.today i tried using a tampon(i usually don't use them, but i'm sore from wearing a pad all the time )and it hurt .so i took a look at my vagina and my labia on one side is small and my clitors and uretha seem to be pulled in! Yikes!!! i'm worried .dose anyone know what this might be?
